Shalom, I am rabbi Issachàr Lèvi Schneerson.

About me:
Born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, 1954, I have lived in The Netherlands, Canada, and Israel,
and I hold both Dutch and Israeli citizenship.
Until 2008 I have worked as a lumberjack, carpenter, police-officer, kibbutz-member, hardware engineer, and software tester.
After receiving my 'semikha'- rabbinical ordination in March 2008, I became the first rabbi of the Open Jewish Congregation Klal Israel (now called Klal Yisrael), in Delft, The Netherlands, that I founded in 2005 and led until 2016.

I have written several books and hundreds of songs, most of which you can find on this site, through the Menu at the top.
Presently I concentrate on transforming / transposing the whole of the medieval Kabbalistic book The Zohar into songs.
If, God willing, I will be allowed to bring this immense project to an end, I will have produced approximately 770 songs...

Please be aware, that I am not a 'mekubbàl' - a scholar of Kabbalàh, but merely a student of the Zohar (a Zohar-enthusiast).
So, while you are invited to enjoy my melodies and my lyrics, please keep the above in mind.

About my name:
'Issachàr Lèvi Schneerson' is a pseudonym, that I chose as an expression of the love and gratitude that I felt for the late Menachem 'Mendel' Schneerson z''l, 
the 7th and last 'Rebbe' of the Hassidic sect ChaBaD-Lubavitch, may he rest in peace. On several occasions I had the privilege of private meetings with the Rebbe, and those were unforgettable: the Rebbe z''l steered my life.
Although in thought and belief I am very much aligned with it, and appreciate it enormously, at the moment I am not affiliated with CHaBaD-Lubavitch.
