First Zohar 5 – The Separation of The Sexes

God created the first woman for the first man
And she, Lilith, spoke as only Lilith can:
Look at me and perceive:
I am beauty, here to conceive.
I am ferocious and wild,
And I will mother and spoil your child,
While you will sweat and toil
To supply me with food from the soil

Thereupon, God let it rain upon the Earth,
And He banned the insolent according to her dearth.
God caused Adam to sleep and took from his flesh
And formed for him a better woman, afresh:
Chavah, his opposite, to Adam sent,
Eve, his partner, his council, his loyal friend

There rose a yearning in the female
There rose a lust in the male
The two excited
The two ignited
The two united
The two delighted…

It will not rain, if there are no clouds
Heaven will not bestow blessing upon Earth
Without the sacrifice of an object of worth
Men and women dressed in shrouds

But when smoke from the altar ascends
Every long-suffered drought ends.
Until then, God on His Throne will wait,
For the Nation of Israel… to initiate.
