First Zohar – 7 The Death of Man

Our sages have not lied:
Adam and Eve have indeed died.
However, Adam still exists till these times.
Prepare: when for you the clock chimes,
He will appear.
And he will demand to hear
Why you depart from life.

You will accuse him, perhaps even abuse him,
Saying you die on his account.
But Adam a mere single commandment did break
While you caused the whole, holy Torah to quiver and quake!
Rachel our Mother for YOUR soul fears,
Daily and nightly, over YOU she sheds tears…

As every tzaddik has once transgressed,
Surely, YOU have twice, at best …
Thus, if you yearn for Heaven instead of Hell,
You MUST have confessed
BeFORE you can be blessed!
Heaven will wait
While YOU decide your fate…

Never a man drew his last breath
Without sin!
So, rise, admit that also YOUR death
Has some within!
