Lyrics
The color of life
© Issachar Tal van Kekem
Look up… at that rainbow… connecting our two worlds!
Look up… at that rainbow… it’s bending to embrace!
Look up… at that rainbow… extending to include!
Look up… at that rainbow… the universe imbued!
Binding God and His creation… for eternity and on…
God is love but He has expressed rage,
Every time man did wrong and refused to assuage
God is peace but He also waged war:
Killed all early creatures, with a humongous bore
God is our Father, but at times He is our child:
Splashing colors on the walls, until reconciled…
Chorus:
Noah’s name meant: Consoler
And he truly was, so BE his extoller.
Praise the Saint, who would not be deterred,
Who steered his Ark and kept his herd
Who nursed our planets’ future in its sick berth
And who (like God!) populated Earth
The covenant as a bow¬: the ninth of the signs
¬¬¬Connection, inception, that truest intention
To labor and birth, majestic intervention
The covenant as a light: a multi-colored beam
Making visible all the differences
And yet also bridging all the distances!
God will provide fish, bread, and wines
For the festive meal,
That our souls will heal,
In the warmest colors, our eyes will gleam!
Chorus:
Baruch ha Kadosh, Baruch Hu, mechadesh chayim!
