Tradition is, what and how, the Patriarchs used to do
Tradition is, what our rabbis, have explained, that too
Tradition is, obedience and respect
Tradition is, inviting the past, the present to affect

Tradition is ignored by the ignorant
Tradition is employed and abused by the tyrant
Tradition is mocked by the progressive
And angrily defended by the regressive

Tradition is love that spawns hate
Tradition is weakness deciding fate
Tradition is like a childhood memory
Of protection and provision: of security

Tradition at Creation came to be
And it has been seeded, deep, within you and me
Tradition is continuation:
In every generation
Walking up The Path!
In search of the Love of God,
Not out of fear of His wrath…

Tradition is a handle
to hold on to the holiness of the past
In the hope that the holiness of the present
