Lyrics

The Consequences of Causal Thought
© Issachar Tal van Kekem
All things must pass, it is said:
That is a law of nature
But it also is why my heart bled:
No things have a future

Time may not exist,
But I clench my fist
And cling to what is mine
Surrender I decline
The present I confine
All that is I enshrine

Chorus:
Thoughts often tend to wander,
To go astray and get lost
Thoughts must be restrained,
So no bridge too far will be crossed

Every cause is followed by an effect
That rule I know and respect
Every effect is preceded by a cause
That is why we have set laws
But not all events warrant research
It is fine to accept and to perch
Man does not have to know everything
It is enough to embrace, to love and to sing

Chorus:
Thoughts often tend to wander,
To go astray and get lost
Thoughts must be restrained,
So no bridge too far will be crossed
