Lyrics
Seven Heavens, One Fish and a Single Sea
© Issachar Tal van Kekem
Chorus:
Reaching for the Seventh Heaven while on Earth
Seems a futile exercise
As if attempting to be loved
While wearing a disguise
No length or height will suffice
No mask be pierced by loving eyes
The Heavens are seven, they contain it all
The Heavens are seven, yet not a single wall
The Heavens are infinite, yet God hears every call
Life can be hard at times,
And isn’t always brief,
So when at last the bell chimes,
One may well feel relief
But life is a gift from the Lord Up High
So do not question, do not ask why
Be a content fish in the wide-open sea
You are alive and you are free!
Chorus:
Reaching for the Seventh Heaven while on Earth
Seems a futile exercise
As if attempting to be loved
While wearing a disguise
No length or height will suffice
No mask be pierced by loving eyes
Yes, Heaven is to be desired,
We are right to long to return,
But the ascent from Earth we are to earn
We are to observe and to learn,
To be good and do good,
And only then we may yearn
Chorus:
