Love The Strangers
© Issachar Tal van Kekem
Love the stranger, for you yourselfwere strangers in a foreign land
Open your doors, pull another chair to your tables
Feed the stranger with an open hand
Explain your traditions, and imprint him with your fables
There is place for all underneath the Wings of the Presence
He who turns from the Other Side, raises her incandescence,
For he comes in purity, she lovingly assumes
Infinite is the number of her rooms
The Other Side he is not fleeing,
But his soul he is freeing
Now that, at last, the truth he is seeing…
The souls of Israel dive into Earth
Into her womb, deep within
Through the act of circumcision
The stranger becomes our kin
But he will not fully be our brother:
The Shechinah is not HIS mother…
Israel is a precious son
For whom her innards yearn
By joining her Nation
The stranger helps Creation
To churn
The Other Side he is not fleeing,
But his soul he is freeing
Now that, at last, the truth he is seeing…
Israel is a precious son
For whom her innards yearn
By joining her Nation
The stranger helps Creation
To churn
May the Other Side… soon burn!
