Lyrics
To Love Your God

Not for nothing… it is written:
“Let us create a human being in our image”
We are to be conscience-smitten
Not to descend into a scrimmage
With the less successful in our lineage
Not for nothing, the human was created male and female in one:
The male is the wealthy, the female is the poor,
And only through unison each will wear velour
Else, wealth will remain but an illusion of grandeur…
Only through caring and providing
Being mutual and coinciding
Through guiding and confiding
Will we stop colliding
Need no poor be ashamed and live in hiding…
Not for nothing, Nebukadnezzar, king of old
Was instructed, warned, and told:
Your kingdom has departed from you,
And this spell has been cast upon you!
You will be a beast and you will live in the field,
Grass you will eat, for to the pleas of the needy you did not yield!
The name of the man with whom I worked today,
Is Boaz, who, in his compassion, with me will lay
He will unburden, yes, SAVE my life:
He will protect and love me, as his wife…
Only through caring and providing
Being mutual and coinciding
Through guiding and confiding
Will we stop colliding
Need no poor be ashamed and live in hiding…
