All the Rivers

All the rivers flow into the sea
Yet the sea does not overflow
But all our sins are collected up high
Little is forgiven, more and more we owe
The Heavenly Throne gathers souls
Their yearnings and their delights
Like a tree with many branches, filled with fruit
It provides for the Israelites
Every night the human soul throws off its cloak
To ascend, and, naked and alone, contemplate its acts
And every morn’ anew it picks up its yoke
And worries about all it still forgot
Too many embarrassing facts
It was Good! It was good! He said, He said:
Yud Hey Vav Hey – I will be who I will be!
I have reconciled good and bad
The Demons cannot flee and mankind is free!
The Radiance of the first, the primordial light
Has carefully been treasured away
It was packed very well, In a shell within a shell
For the righteous, in the time to come, to stay
It is the Other Side, the Demon’s Abode
May those shells never erode!
