Who Drove Out

Most people assume, that God drove out the human
But some rabbis disagree
Based on grammar, they say: “Come and see!
Through his sin, Adam drove out his soul
All that made him whole!
Adam drove out the Shekhináh, God’s loving Presence
And, thereby, he became unworthy of god’s Pleasance!”
Chorus:
Once man has sinned, he draws upon himself
Countless maleficent beings, and also Wardens of Judgment
No place left for him on the Canopy Shelf
An easy target for every Demon’s grudgment
Man divorced the Shekhináh, and then God divorced man
Sent him out from under His enormous wingspan
God also banished man’s wife
And He cursed, limited their life
Previously destined to live forever
After God had decided to sever
They lost access to the Tree of Life
As an ever-turning sharpest knife
Fierce and fiery angels and that flaming Sword
Blocked all return, as commanded by the Lord
Chorus:
