A good man lends graciously, and conducts himself with justice
All men must aspire to be worthy of the way the Holy One trusts us
God, our Father, nourishes Creation, yes, through Him all thrives
May the lists of our achievements fill the Heavenly archives!

Drink water from your cistern, flowing water from your well
The well bubbles from way below, as all will tell
The cistern is empty until nourished by the Lord from high above
And both well and cistern exist merely by the grace of His love

Do not be corrupt, not before God, nor in the shadow
Do not sin brazenly, and do not sin in secret
Remember, until Noach acted, all men were called “Sons of Adam”, “Sons of sin”
For they carried the guilt of their father in their souls, deep within
As they were conceived from the evil impulse
so they could never but repulse

The offspring of Noach, on the other hand,
Merited to set the first foot on dry land
And though they too descended from sin,
They were good, very good, for they carried Noach in their souls, anchored within
The merit of the father protects the son
The merit of the father can never be undone

Had Adam not hearkened to Eve,
Had he argued: “I do not believe!”
Had he not sinned, not patently transgressed,
Mankind would not exist, never be blessed,
For then the children of Adam would, forever, have been pure,
They would have been immortal, forever to endure
And Noah would not have been required to cure
So, blessed is Adam, for he did hearken to Eve,
Whom the snake then, deceitfully, made believe
That bad was actually good,
That Eve really SHOULD
Eat of The Forbidden Fruit.
