Terrach manufactured idols for his temporaries
According to ancient scrolls in dusty libraries
To advance and enhance the grandeur of the Great City of Ur

When Avram destroyed his father’s idols
Terrach delivered his son into the hands of the king of Shinar
Who was Nimrod, a son of Cush, a son of Cham, a son of Noach…
Nimrod had turned from God and had become a horrible tyrant.
In his anger Nimrod declared: “Let us worship Fire!”
And Avram was thrown into the furnace
But no harm became him!

Chorus:
Let us worship fire!
No, let us worship water, that extinguishes the fire!
Let us worship the clouds, that carry the water!
No, let us worship the wind, that chases the clouds!
No NO! Let us worship man, man overcomes the wind!
No no, HUSH! Nimrod exclaimed, We will worship fire!

Nimrod, the king, demanded of Haran, the brother,
To side with him, but Haran chose Avram, who had been chosen by God.
So Haran was thrown into the furnace,
And he was scorched and burned, and he died in the presence of Terrach.
And Terrach, never, spoke another word…

Chorus:

Then Avram aroused himself to go to the Land of Cna’an, to safely worship the Holy One
And Terrach accepted, for he realized it was the god of Avram who had saved his son
Avraham then aroused himself to purity, and God stepped in to support him:
“Go you forth to the Land, and I will show you the way!
Go you forth to settle the Land, and with your children’s children I will, forever, stay!”

Chorus:

Stay not among the wicked, oh Israel!
Do not willingly descend those steps to hell!
“Go you forth to the Land, and I will show you the way!
Go you forth to settle the Land, and with your children’s children I will, forever, stay!”
