I Have Nothing to Fear

Avram was not sent down to Egypt:
He went by his own accord,
As if he were his own lord,
He exposed himself and Sarai, his wife,
And indeed all in his household,
To the perverted Egyptian way of life,
For all Egyptians were steeped in lechery…
And so Avram became guilty of treachery!
But Abram saw his wife and said:
Now I know what a beautiful woman you are!
In this dark world you truly are a shining star!
It must be the Holy Presence!
It must be the Shechina, God’s eternal bride,
Forever tied:
Forever by your side!
Oh, thank you, my Lord: I have nothing to fear
Now I See that You are always near!
Woe! Woe! Woe to the wicked of Earth!
Who do not confess their inadequacy, their dearth!
Who do not acknowledge the work of the Holy One!
Who mistake for Him the moon, or the sun…
Who fail to reflect and understand
That all that transpires throughout the land
Originates in His generous hand…
You, our Yud Hey Vav Hey, are a shield surrounding me
You will never stop astounding me
For You know from before the beginning
What will happen after the end.
Man does not drift and is not lost, but directed, steered and sent!
