Lyrics
God Promised

I will surely return to you,
When life is due.
Do not fear,
Your death is not near.
I will surely return to you,
When your wife will give birth to the son you so desire!
But one day I will command you to build me an altar and light me a fire!
(Psalms 24:7) Lift up your heads, ye Gates!
Throw open your doors, ye Openings of Eternity!
So the King of Glory may enter!
Yitschak honoured his father,
For he was a strong man (aged 37) while his father was old (137) and feeble,
Yet, he allowed his father to bind his hands and his feet!
At the altar not only Avraham was tested,
And found immaculate:
Both Avraham and Yitschak us did educate!
Both Avraham and Yitschak shaped our Nation’s fate!
Sarah had heard the words of God,
But she thought His promise was a joke:
She was an old woman, stiff and dry as the Mamrei oak
Far past giving birth, closer to getting a stroke…
Yet, that very moment, her way of the women reoccurred,
So, though still in doubt, Sarah ignored what she had heard.
Accepting that God’s words would prove to be true,
She opened the Gates of Imagination,
And she gave Avraham his due…
(Psalms 24:7) Lift up your heads, ye Gates!
Throw open your doors, ye Openings of Eternity!
So the King of Glory may enter!
