How Great is the Outcry of Sedom and Amorah!

יֹּ֣אמֶר יְהֹוָ֔ה זַעֲקַ֛ת סְדֹ֥ם וַעֲמֹרָ֖ה
כִּי־רָ֑בָּה וְחַ֨טָּאתָ֔ם כִּ֥י כָבְדָ֖ה מְאֹֽד׃
The Holy One called out to Avraham, saying:
“How horrible is the outcry of Sedóm and Amoráh!
Their sin is great!” Unforgiveable!
For how they treat My Creation has been brought to Me:
It is the worst a man can ever see…
No visit to these cities must ever again occur:
So the border between good and evil will not blur.

Simply for doing good a man there will be killed
The sad opposite of My intention, of what I willed…
Voices, ascending from the full depth of sorrow,
Have stated the full extent of the wickedness, so tomorrow…
Tomorrow, I will go down to Sedóm and Amoráh,
And I will destroy those two cities and all that lives therein!
ERASE the memory of every single sin!

“How horrible is the outcry of Sedóm and Amoráh!

For how they treat My Creation has been brought to Me:
It is the worst a man can ever see…

But, surely, my Lord, surely not ALL in Sedóm and Amoráh have defiled?!
Of course, You are justifiably riled,
But the innocent with the guilty You will erase?!
Are You not a God of grace?!
If… if there are only fifty, forty, thirty, twenty, ten… with virgin scrolls
Surely you will show mercy on their souls?

Avraham, my servant, I have scrutinized all accusations,
And not EVEN ten I have found innocent of gruesome abominations…
A MERE four pure souls I have found: the family of your nephew Lot:
Warn them to flee tonight, or tomorrow they will die and rot...
I MUST… and I WILL… shake and burn and cover over those horrible places
Erase the sins and the sufferings, yes, all of its traces!
